Frequently asked questions

Plain answers about how our structured negotiation framework works.

What is a structured negotiation program?

+

A structured program is an organized framework in which a licensed specialist works on your behalf to propose settlement terms to your creditors over a defined timeline, with the goal of resolving qualified unsecured balances for less than the full principal owed.

Who qualifies?

+

Eligibility generally requires a minimum total unsecured balance, demonstrated financial hardship, and accounts held with cooperative national institutions. Final qualification is determined after a confidential review.

Will this affect my credit rating?

+

Debt settlement programs may adversely affect your credit rating during the program. Your specialist will walk you through the expected impact and recovery timeline as part of your enrollment review.

Are there fees?

+

Horizon Settlement Partners charges no upfront fees. Our professional fees are performance-based and only earned and collected as each individual account is successfully settled and a payment is made on your behalf. Fees typically range from 15% to 25% of the enrolled debt, depending on the program structure. No fee is charged for the initial eligibility review.

How long does a program take?

+

Most structured programs run between 24 and 48 months, depending on balance size, creditor cooperation, and consumer adherence to the schedule.

Do you provide legal or tax advice?

+

No. Horizon Settlement Partners does not provide legal, tax, or bankruptcy advice. Restructured or forgiven debt may be considered taxable income by the IRS; please consult a qualified professional.
